Idea
The journey begins with sketching until the concept comes to life. Possible materials are discussed and an estimate is given. Once the gem(s) are chosen, the waxcarving begins.

Model
The 3D version of the Idea is achieved via handcarved wax models. This allows the gem(s') perfect fitting, and details can be sculpted that would be challenging in solid metal.

Metal
A plaster mold of the Model is made before melting it out of this 'shell,' leaving a void for casting. Molten alloys (gold karatage, silver or platinum) are poured in. After cooling, the benchwork begins.

Masterwork
Metal gets filed, sanded smooth and gems are set. Crowning elements can include engraving, plating, or texturing the surface. Congratulations, your original expression is complete.
